I've designed this adapter to mount Styrbar remote [IKEA US link] on top of the classic european wall switch.

The light bulbs are Ikea Tradfri [IKEA US link], so they only need permanent power to remain connected to Home Assistant and receive commands via zigbee2mqtt from Styrbar remote and from the HA dashboard.

It took me 2 days and 3 design iterations to get to this result, but overall I'm satisfied by the result.

To mount the Styrbar into the 3D printed adapter component, you'll need 2 pieces of 6mm diameter cylindrical magnet.

NOTE:

Be aware of the polarity of the magnets in regards with the magnets mounted on the back of Styrbar remote!

I've used this type of magnets [aliexpress link].
On the wall facing side of the 3D printed adapter component are 4 bores to insert 6mm magnets if you want an extra level of security.

As you've probably seen, there are two bolts and nuts passing thru the adapter. These are M3x15mm cylindrical bolts used to fix the adapter on the wall switch metal frame.

I highly recommend using a locking split washers [McMaster-Carr link] to avoid the nut free spinning when trying to tigthen it.

I hope you'll enjoy this print and will make your life easier.
