Description

This is a universal tape holder.

It can hold any tape roll using the included roll springs.

The spool springs allow you to fit tape rolls with inner diameters ranging from 22mm to 77mm and outer diameters up to 115mm.

Say goodbye to loose duct tape rolls in your Gridfinity System!

How to create your own custom tape holder:

Step 1: Select one of the three base sizes.

You have three options when it comes to the base size for your Gridfinity System:

  • Small base: This option has a footprint of 4x3 and can hold a combination of spools with a total width of approximately 80 mm.
  • Medium base: This option has a footprint of 6x3 and can hold a combination of spools with a total width of approximately 160 mm.
  • Large base: This option has a footprint of 8x3 and can hold a combination of spools with a total width of approximately 240 mm. (Can not be printed on the A1 mini due to size)

Step 2: Choose the Correct Spool Springs

Measure the inner diameter of your tape roll and select the appropriate spool spring:

(These dimensions are correct for spool springs printed with PETG. Sizes may vary for springs made with other materials.)

  • Small Spring: 32 - 22 mm
  • Middle Spring: 42 - 32 mm
  • Big Spring: 77 - 42 mm

Measure the width of your tape roll and scale the spring in your slicer accordingly.

Step 3: Enjoy your tidy workspace!

PS: Added STEP files for the tape lid! Now you can easily customize the lid to fit your preferred cutting device.

If you download it and make modifications, please consider uploading your version to share with others.

I am a woodworker so going to make the body out of wood. I also use a lot of wide tape rolls so I made them wider.

Great! I'd love to see some pictures of your wooden version if you don't mind.
