This model consists of a puzzle piece shaped sign and sign stand. The sign has a groove that will hold LED “Neon Flex” that are 6mm thick.
Below is a list of what is needed to complete the project:
Recommend printing in PETG if you plan on using LEDs at full brightness
6mmx12mm neon flex
Soldering iron
Solder
Power supply (specs depend on LEDs used)
18-22awg wire
Barrel connector (for connecting sign to power supply)
Instructions:
Prepare the LEDs:
Cut a small window in the side of the neon flex, be careful to only cut through the silicone and not the led strip.
Solder your wires to the led strip. Make sure your wire length is long enough for where you want to place your sign. Feed the wires through the hole in the sign.
Gently pull the wires through and push the neon flex into the groove
Work your way around the rest of the sign pushing the led strip in as you go, it was designed for tight Fitment so there are no gaps. Cut off the excess strip so you end up with a tight Fitment between both ends of the led strips
Solder the barrel connector onto the other end of the wires so you can hook the sign up to a power supply
For bonus points use an led controller like this to control the brightness
100% brightness
50% brightness
Banana for scale!
Enjoy your new neon sign!
