I would've preferred the support to be only from build plate. removing some from the small area on top and sides was a pain but otherwise it was a great model and printed well.
I understand. I had many complaints about the support on this model, but i honestly don't think you get get away with build plate only support. People are free to try though.. Thanks for printing all these. Too bad you had that layer shift.
Use the scraper that came with the printer. Stick the corner of it under the top of the support and twist. they should pop off If not, try a boxcutter or some thin blade. Same thing, slide it between the interface and model and twist a little until you hear it sepparate, move along all of them and they should pop out.
not a bad model but could do with changing the infill to gyroid and like 5-7% and also. if you're going to use tree supports. do it from base plate only it's an absolute pain in the butt to remove the support the way it's set up at the moment. I will be reprinting using my own settings as I love the mode
fun print! I used one of the primary profiles to start and I wish I would have done a couple more walls and a little more infill. I went with minimal for the sake of time but right at the temples, mine cracked since there’s not much strength or internal support. I think I did 2 wall with lightning infill. so just be aware of that when you go to print.
Strength Issue:2 walls and such low infill was just not enough for this to feel sturdy to me. Mine cracked between layers in two spots as I was handling or trying to put my headset on it. I’m going to prime & finish it so hopefully it’ll still work well. so I’d say to be safe, you may want a third wall. though, up to you. it definitely could have been my filament needing a higher temp or something. it also played like a bongo on the bottom since it’s so hollow 😂
