Description

I needed a lateral spool holder and at the same time a splitter to use the single coil more easily.
This REMIX was necessary!
2 birds with one stone! '^_^

The remix consists of the union of these 2 splendid components (thanks to ryan.fransen and ultrajaxel), and the addition of the Bambu Lab logo to the HUB.
I also created a negative part so that it all coupled with my PTFE support that I had already installed
(a photo to illustrate the "green" component):

Slightly modified in shape, but the slim version works equally well: https://makerworld.com/en/models/83098#profileId-88643

Spool Holder:

The spindle which holds the AMS Spool holder is nice as it incorporates a nice click mechanism to hold it on as well as it incorporates the auto rewind spring mechanism of the AMS spool holders. This works very well.

This is the one you need - ensure you get the Green one:
https://eu.store.bambulab.com/en-it/collections/spare-parts-for-ams-lite/products/ams-lite-rotary-spool-holder

Hub:

BambuLab now sells their 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter which serves the exact purpose of this mod.

WARNING:
Be careful to purchase the correct HUB (there are 2 similar ones).
Here is the link to the Global store:
https://store.bambulab.com/products/ams-lite-filament-hub?_pos=5&_sid=8442e857c&_ss=r

Just depress the black end of the PTFE tube coupler and slide it into the model and the AMS hub LITE. The model will keep the black end depressed, which is essential to stop the PTFE teeth from interfering with filament input.

For assembly 4 screws required:
- 2x M3x25mm (top)
- 2x M3x13mm (bottom)

So Happy with these add-ons!!

Can't wait to get this printed. Thanks for remixing this awesome spool holder. I was curious, where did you get the AMS buffer guide from in this pic? I can't seem to find one that will fit with your spool holder. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, I had to add the link, and I always forgot. it is also a creation of ultrajaxel, you can find everything in his profile. Anyway here it is: https://makerworld.com/en/models/83098#profileId-88643 actually updated the piece by editing it. I hope it still fits well with my remix. otherwise write to me, I will provide you with the right file. 👍🏻

Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. I had my eye on that one, but wasn't sure. Yours does look a little thinner on the base that screws into the case. If you look at the 3rd one down from ultrajaxel's model that you linked, it looks as though someone remixed it with a thinner base. What do you think?

Originally there were 2 versions. The thin one was the version to add the original balbulab metal spool holder. And that's the version I printed. However if you look at the photo of "euforia" below, you will see that the new model fits well too. So don't worry!

After printing this out along with the PTFE bracket on the bottom and only today receiving the Bambu Lab 4in1 splitter I see they do not work together. And the original version of the spool holder isn’t going to work either as everything needs that top screw hole on the back. Help! I’m in need of a remix.

Sorry, I would like to help you but I don't understand your problem. The bracket for the "AMS HUB" has 2 holes. When printing there is some fill to remove. But the 2 fixing holes are there!

My problem is with the splitter I got from Bambu Lab. it doesn’t fit the hub bracket and if I wanted to use it without the hub bracket it won’t fit the cut out you put into the spool holder.

Although looking at the Bambu Wiki photos they aren’t even using the bracket attached to it on the X1C. I can just cut that off to get a closer fit with the spool holder part.

What version of PTFE guide did you print below? Is it still ultrajaxel? Because the fixing part with the printer seems thinner. Thank you

Yes it is. I took the 2nd plate which is bit thinner. https://makerworld.com/en/models/83098#profileId-88643

I consider it an excellent solution for those, like me, who have more than one AMS and need to disconnect and reconnect the PTFE each time to change spool. It's inevitable to forget to reconnect it, causing a mess🤯. With this solution, I can attach everything together, even the dryer, load the filament, and be at ease. Not to mention the arrangement of the printers, which makes it challenging every time I want to use an external coil. Thank you for sharing the file, I love it!🥰

I've also had the experience of starting a print and forgetting to reconnect! XD It's truly an accessory that once you try it, you can't do without it. Too comfortable and functional! Thanks for sharing your creation

I love it. Looks great and printed no problem. Only issue I had was the threads on the spool were a little tight going all the way down. Got it in and looks great. Sorry about the photos, didn't want to have to move the printer again.

This print is probably my favorite modification outside of the AMS riser that I have printed. It is so incredibly useful, looks way better, and works way better than the default side spool. I am absolutely over the moon with how this came out and how this printed. I didn’t have to wait for the four to one connector to come back in stock and I was able to use readily available parts. This file is what makes 3-D printing an incredible community! Thank you!

Printed very nice, it was just a little bit hard to screw the parts

Yes, I think it depends on the type of material used (I only tested with PLA), and on the air flow to cool the mechanical joining part. I had to insert and remove it 2-3 times before having a smooth union.
