I've seen a lot of fly traps, but let's be honest, most of them don't look that great in the kitchen. So I thinked about a design that would fit in the kitchen. When it comes to fruit flies and a kitchen, what could be more appropriate than a fruit? I pictured it in my mind's eye: a pineapple. So I designed a pineapple-shaped fly trap.
Since I print without support whenever possible, I had to disassemble the trap into parts. The parts can be easily aligned using insertable connectors and securely bonded with a little glue. This is clearly visible in the photos.
Printed on my X1C, you'll notice a slight click when closing the pineapple due to the tolerances used.
For this photo, I only used a beer lemonade mix and a bit of dish soap. Fruit wine, fruit juice, or apple cider vinegar also worked.
Caution: The leaves have very sharp ends, so keep the object away from children!
