This is the Modular Doorknob Replacement!
Have you ever wondered how many doorknobs there are in the world? Have you ever wanted to make your very own design? If you answer yes to those questions then this design can put you one step closer.
Included are the files to replace a door handle for ~35 mm | ~1 3/8" thick doors.
What you need: 2 Small rubber bands and the 8-32 pull screws that you just took out of your door.
Here comes the fun part! You get to design your own handles, knobs, etc. I've included a file for a Extruded Cut for the turning shaft. A “key” you could call it. You can use this design to extrude cut from your own designs and have a custom door entry with a good tolerance.
Print Settings and other Info: I've only tried .2 mm Layer height, 15% Gyroid Infill, with PLA filament. All of the orientations are correct. The only one I would change is the Exterior Shaft. Printing at a 45 degree angle (on one of the chamfers) with supports works best.
Some of these models require supports!
For all you precise people: 21.95mm circle with a square centered and tangent on all four corners extruded 10.2mm with the circle, and a 7.2 mm extrusion with the square on top of that. If you have SolidWorks, the Extruded Cut Knob is included in a .sldprt file as well.
I want you to think out of the box and post as many handles, knobs, and whatever you want to maximize the the creativity for doorknobs. I'm interested in seeing a lot on here!
