Description

Here is my desk clamp for holding my mobile when recording. I'm very happy with the strength and stability. It's not a new idea, this has been done by many for years. But this is my version.

I've created a dovetail joint at the end for additional attachments when i design them.

It's on a 22/8/7 skater bearing with a M3 bolt holding it. Rotates very well.

I printed out all the pieces plus some extra sections and knobs, are they supposed to fit so tight ? I found that some colors worked better than others but they don’t thread in very easy so I used a little oil and that helped but still very difficult to turn the knobs in and out without shredding your fingers..ouch also do you have some other models that can attach to the dovetail. the piece you designed looks a cool looking and all but doesn’t serve any purpose for my uses. any other attachment models would be greatly appreciated..thanks in advance Mike

Thank you for your feedback. They are tight in the very beginning. I wanted to make sure they lasted for as long as possible. I always use a cloth when working in any new parts. So i know what you mean about the fingers. I've found as soon as you screw them in a couple of times they then are a nice fit. I may change the design to a hex bolt rather than the one currently. I do appreciate all constructive criticism, so thanks again, it helps me get better. I'm sorry you are not as happy as i was.

I'm sorry you're having problems with adhere to your plate. I have no problems with this print and others have printed successfully (see above). The most common problem with adhering to the plate is making sure the plate is very clean. If i'm not using glue (For a smooth finish) I always warm the plate, wash with soap, dry and print. On a smooth or a textured plate, if there is any grease from your hands that can always cause problems. I hope that helps.

Replying to @MB3DX1C :
thank you for your reply, both of my plates are cleaned regularly, im using both soap and 99% etanol to combat all dirt and potential grease marks, it seems that this stand isnt destined to be printed by me

Thank you for your feedback and rating. I agree the mounting is rather large. If i get time i will design a smaller stronger one.
