Improved toilet paper to container kit
Print Profile(2)

Description

This is an improved version of one of my older models: https://makerworld.com/en/models/142747
This kit allows you to convert toilet paper tubes into little containers. Everything is print-in-place and supportless.
Summary of the versions:
- “normal” files: Designed for tubes with an outer diameter of approximatly 42.6mm (North America)
- “smaller” files: Designed for tubes with an inner diameter of approximatly 39 mm (Australia)
I'm not sure how the hinge would print if scaled down, but it should not be a problem to scale it up. If your tube does not fit one of the presets, just measure the outer diameter of your tube and determine your scaling factor like this: model_outer_diameter / your_outer_diameter = scaling factor
Example, if your roll has a diameter of 45mm, use the "normal" file with the diameter of 42.6mm and do ; 45 / 42.6 = 1.05 = 105%.
What changed?
- The lid is now designed to be printed opened, which prevent you from having to pry it open with a tool and gives a better finish.
- The closing mechanism has been improved.
- The inner-most wall was removed since it was not necessary for the tube to be clamped between two walls.
- The Combination of the above changes are reducing the required material by up to 25%
NOTES: It is designed for a layer height of 0,2mm or lower.
Print settings:
Resolution : 0.2mm
Infill : 15%
Material : PLA (PETG recommend for the clip for more flexibility)
