I made this lamp switch to fit 3mm / 3.5mm/ 4.0mm USB cables the cables are held by pressure if you use the correct housing. There is also a version that will let you screw the cable in place if you prefer that  

Make sure the cable is through the switch hole before soldering  

Use super glue to close the housing  

For the screw version i have been using M3 – 8 mm screws  

Switch use 10x15mm Rocker switch
