Description
This is a strong volute compression spring that can be resized to the size you are after for different types of projects and applications. The spring you see in the pictures are 110 x 53 mm and printed in Bambu ABS and takes ca. 10 kg of vertical pressure to fully compress against a scale. There is a lot of fun to be had here experimenting with different materials, how strong can it be made? :)
To see if this really was as good as the initial test's showed, i fully compressed it in a vice and left it for 1 hour. It lost about 10 mm in height and 20% strength, so it held up very well. The stones in the GIF weigh about 12 kg in total.
Printing
- Walls: 4 - Increase the number of walls if it's resized to be bigger, so that it only consist of walls and no infill.
- Layer height: 0.12 mm
- Support: Tree Slim - With Bambu ABS “Top Z distance” 0,3 mm works great.
- Tested in PLA and ABS
