Description

Instructions

  1. Print the lid and the box.
  2. cut a piece of filament (1.75mm diameter) at 8cm/3inches length
  3. assemble the lid and the box
  4. slide the cut piece of filament into the hinge

Explanation

My idea was to make a small pocket box, but I wanted it with a hinge.

So I had to find a way to create a tiny hinge and still keep it accessible by avoiding any external hardware, thats when I thought of using a piece of filament for this.

Variations

  • Tight lid → more secure and tight close between lid and box, but harder to open and close.
  • Loose lid → practical when opened often since it is easier to open, but less secure.
