Ziggy – Scratch Orb

Ziggy – Scratch Orb 🐾  

An interactive scratching toy designed for cats.  
 

This project was inspired by the original Cat scratching ball by Greg Fridman.

I decided to try creating my own version, aiming to make it a bit more modular, more practical to print, and with some small design changes.

 

What’s different in this version?

• Base split into three parts → makes the model modular and helps improve the printing process
• Printable ball bearings for smoother movement
• Threaded connections → the sphere halves and the axes can be screwed together, making the build sturdier and easier to reprint or replace individual parts if needed
• A few extra design tweaks just for looks

Print Settings

• Layer height: 0.16 mm
• Filament: Bambu PLA Matte Desert Tan & Bambu PLA Matte Black Charcoal
