My attempt at designing a simple ratcheting paper towel holder. The interior spring is engineered to offer ample resistance, preventing the roll from unwinding excessively when pulled forcefully. Simultaneously, it enables effortless dispensing of the desired amount of towel without premature tearing of the paper.

I printed my model using ABS but I believe PETG should work too.

This is my first ever design, so please go easy on me :)

Note: The Cover and Base should probably be printed with supports(very minimal). I was able to get by without, however, that may not be the case with all printers/settings.

How flimsy is the elbow of the bracket? Do you have a short video/gif of it's operation? Wanting to print and mount under kitchen cabinet

I wouldn't call it flimsy, but there is some wobble. That said, I have purchased a metal one from the store and even that has some wobble to it when pulled on. I've updated the description to include a video of the holder in action. (https://imgur.com/a/sIo0j4d). Its hard to tell in the video but I give the paper towel a pretty solid yank to demonstrate the wobble.
