Description
This is a customizable storage box with sliding locks, that was initially made to be stackable with my other Gridfinity storage boxes:
They all share same parts for assemble and the box is added there as well, but here is posted sepparate for who doesn't look for gridfinity solutions.
The sliding locks design was inspired from here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/20374-gridfinity-5x5x6-box-stackable-with-sliding-lock#profileId-406781 but everything done from scratch to be fully parametric. It is suitable for large items, and yes, you can customize as big as your build plate.
FEATURES:
- Customizable interior dimensions in mm
- Stackable
- Parametric thickness for walls (box base thickness can be customized apart from the side walls thickness and apart from the lid base thickness. (in the corners area, for few cm, the walls are always 8mm thick because of inserted hinges and stackable feet). The rest of the walls can be 2,3……7 mm
- Customizable corner radius.
- Sliders and hinges have a customizable clearance option (you can reprint only 2 sliders or hinges to fit perfect).
NO SUPPORTS needed (only the lids have a very tiny surface that will never be seen after assembly, see the profile.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- The box you download from there after customization, will have box+lid bodies tied together. Do a split in your slicer so you can fit them on different build plates , and apply to lids manual painted support only to hinge area from profile pictures (red drawing)
- Print the parts for assembly (also included in the parts profile instructions for what metal hardware you need).
- You have the option sepparate to customize the clearance of the sliders and hinges
- Lid is designed to be printed with the interior side on the build plate because of the stackability function and because of the rails for sliders, but you can apply ironing on lid top from your slicer and make it smooth. Having that cavity up, is more functional to retain small items on top. Also i can add if you request, some small height dividers on top if you want.
My profile settings i added worked perfect for me using a Bambu P1S printer and a Biqu Frostbyte cool plate. If you use the standard Bambu Textured PEI Plate, you might need to use some stick glue or add some custom brims for very big boxes not to warp at corners.

*** UPGRADE 12.09.2025 - Added option to choose between empty box or with interior dividers by selecting rows and columns of compartments.
Please be aware that if you customize this model in MakerWorld and then download it as an STL/3MF file, the downloaded version might have a lower mesh resolution than the original. Curves may look slightly faceted. This seems to be a MakerWorld issue and more and more people push MW to increase STL size limits, is not related to the model itself.
