Description

This is a remix of Abazibiz's beautiful Logitech superlight shell for FDM printing. Originally designed to be resin printed.

Weight is 35g.

Changes

  1. Oriented for minimal layer lines / less processing on FDM style printers (i.e. Bambu) and heavy overhang pieces towards the AUX fan.
  2. Optionally can print with the main buttons already fused to the main body (build plate 2).
  3. Removed back legs from model as would be hard to get clean print in new orientation.
  4. Added screw holes to bottom frame for screwing the inner frame (holds mousewheel and buttons) to the bottom. The nubs can easily snap off on FDM printing and this allows screwing to bottom plate if that happens.

V2 changes

  1. Made more clearance around the scroll wheel and the left and right edges of the main buttons to account for imperfections in FDM printing.

Refer to Abazibiz's 3D model for idea of assembly.

Assembly tips

  1. This can be a challenging project. Be prepared to potentially have to fix / diagnose issues you have. I'll try to answer questions.
  2. Beware the stock ribbon cable is very fragile. If it breaks you can buy another from Aliexpress for $3.
  3. Before making final cable connections, do a fit test of the top shell and bottom shell to get a sense of how to connect it. The bottom sort of slides into the top
  4. PLA printed with better overhangs and less processing for me than using PLA+, but has less layer adhesion.
  5. The tolerances are very close. The original design was intended to be sanded. So you may have to sand / snip pieces if they bump where they shouldn't. I.e. my scroll wheel has hit the right button on some prints, and the left has hit the left side of the frame.
