Description

Gridfinity storage solution support for the AMS Stand. Compatible with the longer drawers of the remixed version, and with the original!

Print profiles are provided for:

  • Long drawers integrated with Gridfinity. Use these in case you haven't yet printed the drawers, or in case you want to replace the original smaller drawers by longer drawers with Gridfinity support! Long rails rails and logos already included in the AMS Stand Remix, but also in here for the sake of convenience.
  • Baseplate for the drawers. Print these in case you have already printed the longer drawers from the AMS Stand Remix or the original and want to add Gridfinity support. The first plate is for the longer drawers and second is for the original drawers.
  • Gridfinity bins. Assortment of Gridfinity bins/boxes, I have personally tested and which work great with these drawers. Various other compatible designs also floating around the internet. Check for example here or here.

In case of the print profile with the Gridfinity boxes, it's not the intention that one would print all of the included plates, but instead select those boxes/bins which suit one's individual storage needs. The included boxes are those which I have printed thus far. Most of the boxes are straight from the initial Gridfinity release by Zack Freedman, but a couple of them are my own design. I utilized the Gridfinity Rebuilt tools and some manual work to create some additional boxes which were not yet provided by Zack. The additional boxes include, among others, the half-sized boxes for the front of the drawers.

The drawers and rails have internal holes and pauses for inserting 10x1mm disk magnets. Feel free to utilize or ignore them. Check the AMS Stand Remix for further details regarding those.

The “40mm” drawers with the separate baseplates are just barely able to support 6U Gridfinity boxes (height 45,80mm), but I would recommend going with a maximum of 5U box height. The “40mm” drawers with the integrated Gridfinity support have a bit more room and are able to fit 6U boxes nicely.

The “30mm” drawers can only support 3U Gridfinity boxes (height 24,80mm), so probably best to leave those for some other use.

Baseplate for the drawers
Not ideal with kind of large empty margins around the edges but a good print.

Yeah, unfortunately the size of the drawers doesn't line up nicely with the standard Gridfinity box size and I don't think that anything can really be done regarding the "baseplate"-solution... The "drawer with integrated Gridfinity support" has nicer looking outcome as the borders of the drawers take into account the size discrepancy. Anyway, thanks for the print and picture!
