Description

PillToid

Use PillToid along with your empty Altoid mint tin box to help organize your life!

Easy Access Ramps!

PillToid incorporates easy access ramps to help you to remove tiny items so they are not caught in the corner where you can't catch your finger on it. Try it yourself! Catch a small item with your finger and drag it towards the front of the section where the easy access ramp is located. The item can be removed easily without becoming caught in the corner of the box!

PIllToid's Easy Access ramp allows small items to easily be removed. Drag any small item towards the ramp to allow it to be removed easily!

Usage

You know that you always wanted one of these! Why dispose of those nice Altoid mint tin boxes, put them to good use!

PillToid can be used as your pill reminder box for your daily medication. There are sections labeled for each day of the week, plus an Extra section for carrying some mints with you (or any other extra items).

NOTE: Please keep PillToid out of the hands of children when containing medication as they may not understand that it no longer contains edible candy!

PillToid can also be used as a small fishing tackle box to help organize your fly fishing lures, hooks, swivels, etc.

PillToid is also helpful when disassembling anything with a lot of small screws or other small parts, so they don't get lost or dropped on the floor. It helps you to organize the different screw sizes so you don't lose track of the different sizes (especially useful when removing the rear cover of the Bambu X1 as it has two different type of screws which should not be mixed up)!

Printing

There is a single color print profile, as well as a two color profile. You can print it using PLA or almost any other filament* you have on hand. There are no special requirements, however I did turn off the Aux fan to help ensure it wouldn't warp on the build plate. There are no real overhangs, so you can use your favorite build plate, color, filament, etc.

I recently added the two Bambu Basic PLA colors that I used to the Bill of Materiels list, but you can use any two colors that you would prefer.

Want to save time and filament? Use the sIngle color print profile, then color the letters with a permanent marker.

Why throw away all your poop when printing a 2 color PillToid? I also included a print profile that will allow you to purge to a second object, a second PillToid of course!

This works perfectly and you end up with two PillToids, give one to a friend or just use it yourself!

* Hint: Do NOT use the white “SUPPORT FOR PLA” filament that is often supplied as a sample with Bambu printers!

Note! This is a newer version which has the ramps fixed so that they are no longer floating over the base. If you successfully printed the pervious version of PillToid there is no reason to print it again! Thank you to @user_890992459 for pointing out this flaw to me!

Snapped perfectly into place! Holds multiple pills per section. Text is clear. Prints without supports.

The model fits and works, unfortunately, it is not well modeled. There is a gap under the inner radius of the individual compartments. Too bad, otherwise, the application would be perfect.

Could you send me a message with a photo of the problem along with details so I can understand the issue? This seems to print well for me and others, and I haven't had any other reports. Thanks!

@Rich: I am sorry if I have hurt you with this, the mistake is difficult but clearly recognizable. You can see it during printing the first layer of the radius (layer 5). It is not attached to the base plate. Slicer: Layer 4: Last layer of ground plate Layer 5: Beginning of parting the single zones Layer 6: Beginning of the radius inside with no attachment to layer 4, layer 5 ist missing in this section. The lines are in the air Here some screenshots to see my problem.

Thank you for this information! There was no feelings hurt, and I appreciate your comments! Now that I understood what you were saying, I took a look and found that you were correct! I updated the files to fix this issue. If you had a successful print, there is no reason to reprint it with the new files. But the new files should be ok now. I apologize for the error, I'm new to CAD and I struggle sometimes using Fusion because I don't use it often enough to be proficient when using it. I never noticed this issue as it printed perfectly for me every time. Please take a second look and see if this seems ok to you! If yes, perhaps follow up with comments, a rating or a boost! It's greatly appreciated!

I really like the purge duplicate. making another functional object instead of a big purge tower is awesome.
