Description

This is a cat head shaped slinky to print as a fidget toy. If you like this and would like other shapes, check out my collection here! Feel free to also leave a comment or send me a message if you have ideas for other shapes to make a slinky in!

Please make sure to use a filament for which you have calibrated the flow rate, as overextrusion can lead to the part not being separable!

There are 5 lengths available: 30mm, 60mm, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm.
If you want to make it larger or smaller I recommend only scaling the X and Y axes, as the Z should be fixed to make sure it works when printed.

Please disregard the “Floating Cantilever” warnings that Bambu Studio gives you, the model needs to be printed without supports to make sure it can separate.

After the model is printed you will need to pull the spiral apart, you might need to use a knife to get the separation started, as shown in this image:

À bit difficult to break the first layer but I insisted, and it's fine.

Hi, sorry to hear that you had issues. If you cannot separate the slinky apart it seems like you have overextrusion happening. Please calibrate the flow rate of your chosen material before printing the model.

I was changing my evaluation 😁. It was difficult to break at the beginning but after it went ok

Solid piece printing from the profile.

Hi, the model needs to print somewhat solid to be printable at all (You cannot print on air). You need to use a knife or similar to carefully separate the layers. You might need to use some force to initially get inbetween the first layers, so be careful not to cut yourself. After that you can slide it along the visible separation lines to separate the rest of the layers.

I know how it works I've printed slinky toys before, I'm saying I used the print profile from the handy app and my print is one solid object. There needs to be distinguished ratings for models or print profiles, I'm sure the model is fine but the included profile is no good on my a1.
