Decided to try making a Cherry MX Keycap that works on FDM Printers. Printed on the Bambu lab X1 Carbon and tested on my Corsair K63 Wireless Keyboard.
Let me know the results of how it worked out for you guys.
The switch printed perfectly. Although the top is flat, I printed it on textured PEI so it has a nice feel to it. also, using “glass” PLA or PETG allows any LED’s to shine through. I used purple glass!
Seems to be a bit more "square" than the keycaps on my keyboard which have it slope to the back a bit. The sides are definitely the right profile, though, and they do fit.
Definitely a good option for building something on top of, probably not a good replacement of standard keys without modification, though. (The red keycap in the picture is the standard one, the blue one was printed from this model)
