This Spool ring wraps the edges of a ELEGOO 1kg cardboard spool in order to:

  • provide smooth rotation within a Bambu Lab AMS
  • prevent carboard debris from depositing within a Bambu Lab AMS
  • prevent the cardboard spools from damaging

These rings work much better if they are printed in TPU. The soft rubbery feel gives them better grip in the AMS. I also used a lid spacer on my AMS so I don't run into any size issues.

Why print a ring? Tear off the side parts and put a Bambuspool on it

I did that and I kept getting a filament jam.

I agree, but sometimes you don’t have spare empty spools… I printed 4 just in case. not like it hurts anyone by doing so

it prevents the AMS from closing… also DO NOT put them in your filament dryer (made the mistake of forgetting to remove them)

Printed fine, but won't fit in the AMS without the lid cracked open. Not the design of the print as much as the AMS clearance.
