Description

A durable TPU replacement foot for 19mm diameter canes. This design was born out of necessity when my grandmother's original cane foot broke. I designed this replacement to intentionally have snug fit - it takes some effort to put on, but once it's on, it stays put securely so there's no worry of it slipping off at the worst possible moment.

Print Tips:

  • Material: TPU 95A HF - external spool needs to be used (I'm not sure if this is the best TPU to do this but it's the one I've had on hand)
  • Build plate: Bambu Lab Smooth PEI - for a smooth bottom surface
    • However consider using an older / more 'beat up' build plate as TPU + it's removal will most likely leave marks

Important Print Removal Notes:

  1. Use extreme caution as it's easy to hurt either the print or yourself!
  2. Pour IPA around the model to loosen the part as TPU bonds strongly to smooth PEI plates
  3. Get a good hold of the foot, slowly and methodically try to peel it of the build plate by bending it and putting force on the foot (switch directions often). Keep repeating until the foot peels off
  4. Remove excess strings with wire clippers (or something similar that can get flush with the print's surface).
