Description

Given the fact that I haven't invented anything because I noticed that there are already many similar ones around, I simply created one that suited my needs. I tested this clip for about a month before sharing it here, and it has no issues during printing or calibration. I compared it with some existing models that are equally valid, refining small details.

- The new ultra-thin version has no problems during the printing process.

- The enhanced versions of the clips ensure better grip and increased durability.

Thanks to all your support and suggestions, we have reached the perfect version. Any subsequent changes will be purely aesthetic, and if you'd like, you can also suggest your own design. The most beautiful ones will be featured in the description, and each contributor will be assigned a letter in the print profile.

INSTALLATION OF THESE WILL CAUSE LAYER SHIFT - I have a very similar version of these and although it is an interesting idea, the implementation causes a layer shift whenever there is a filament change. The printer head uses the back left corner as part of its positioning routine so whenever there is a filament change, especially if you use an AMS like me, then the printer recalibrates its head position and shifts things forwards. You can see the results in the images I shared below. The layer shift issue started right after installing the covers, but once I found the issue and removed them, no more layer shift and my prints are perfect again. This is the thread where you can read more about it, with my response at the bottom: https://forum.bambulab.com/t/layer-shifting-after-color-change/3152/51

For now, there are no issues of this kind with this specific model... but if you encounter this problem with this model, let me know.

This is your C version, printed this morning, and as you can plainly see in the second image, the printer head collides with the cover because it is very thick. Anything over 1.5mm thick will get hit by the printer head in the rear left corner and cause layer shift when there is a filament change. Your design is nice, but causes issues on P1 printers with AMS, or when filament change occurs in a print. Your above response makes me think you have not tested your part in this scenario. Your covers are nice, but would be great if you would redesign them to have no contact with the printer head.

The scenario you're showing has been tested on all 5 different printers I have... the printer shouldn't reach that position unless manually brought there... but even if you wanted to bring it, it would hit the bottom part of the motor first.
