Description

The Carbon Grain Dock blends futuristic form with natural material, combining carbon fiber black PLA and a black walnut wood top for a satisfying contrast in both look and feel. It’s designed for makers who appreciate good design, clean cable routing, and a rewarding print. This stand supports both iPhone (MagSafe) and Apple Watch chargers, organizing your daily tech with a sculptural footprint that looks right at home on your desk or nightstand. You’ll enjoy tight tolerances, well-thought-out geometry, and a friction-fit or insert-ready wood top (depending on your finishing style).

Though this piece was designed with a wood top in mind, I have also included the STEP file for this piece so you could 3D print it or use different colors without the need for an AMS. Additionally, you can 3D print the top plate and cover it with any wood vinyl to achieve the same look. If you create a fun pattern or design on the top please feel free to post it as a print profile for others to see and download. (Do not include any of the assembly in the print profile, just that designed top piece if your intent is to share said piece)

The laser cut model can be found on my profile or at https://makerworld.com/en/models/1645760-carbon-grain-dock-laser-cut-top#profileId-1739425

There are 2 types of magsafe chargers, one is 55.9mm wide with a standard non braided cable, and the other is 55.5mm wide with a braided cable. Make sure you download the proper model to fit your magsafe charger. Dont worry if you do the wrong one though, the only difference in print profiles is the head where the magsafe mounts

Updated to V2: reduced part count and easier assembly

Optional:

Before closing the lid, if you want to add extra weight to the bottom you can print and place in the dock weight print profile
