Description
Overview
I designed this model to mount into the walls of my filament storage box to save room. You can fit about 1.5 cups or 300 ml of 3-5 mm dessicant beads in it. I have not tested it with any different dessicants and it would likely not work with anything that is not round. The box features a sliding lid and a storage frame, but can be used without the frame if you like.
Printing Considerations
I printed all of the pieces in PLA, but any non-flexible filament should work fine.
15% infill or more is recommended
No supports required. If you do use supports on the box, it will be difficult to remove them from the sliding lid slot.
I included mouse ears in the design to help with bed adhesion and as a result did not need to use a brim.

Excellent model.
Printed in Sunlu PLA transparent on an A1 mini.
I omitted the storage frame, as I don't need it.
The slicer showed a printing time of over 7 hours, which I didn't have the patience for.
I set the settings on the "Quality" tab all back to Default, and printed almost the whole model with 124% speed (except for the first 10 or so layers).
This dropped the duration to about 5.5 hours.
The print came out exceptionally well.

Some first layer issues on the lid. Printed in 2 different PLAs from 2 different manufacturers and had the same first layer issue. Didn't ruin the print though.

Printed without mount. clean finish, no issues. open vent keeps beads in place. Put it in my safe.

Works great 👍 I printed a pair of them for a 20gal Husky waterproof storage box from Home Depot and it holds all the spare spools that aren't currently being used in the AMS.

Big fan of these holders. I'm using them in Iris Weatherpro 44-Quart storage boxes from Costco to store my filament and they helped bring down the humidity to 11% (standard indoor humidity in our area is around 35%). Definitely recommend!

This model is for dessicant beads that are standard, 3-5 mm nominal diameter or larger. If your dessicant is not that size, it will not hold them in.
