I was tired of always having to remix drawer divider/separator models so I decided to design a simple scalable divider that prints easy and fits together perfectly and can scale to whatever dimension you like within the slicer.

The result is a single base drawer divider part of 100x100x5mm. You print two of this part and they will fit together snuggly. The part has self aligning connectors to ensure a perfect fit every time. The connectors on this model are updated to only have 45 degree angles and therefore can be printed laying down as they would be lying in the drawer. This fixes a lot of potential issues I had with V1 of this design. I have printed these laying down scaled to 200% which increases the overhangs and still it printed just fine on a BambuLab X1C.

At the default scale the female hole is 0.5mm wider and deeper than the male part. This ensures a snug fit with room for accommodating shrinkage and any slight printer imperfections while still ensuring a perfectly aligned fit every time.

Whatever the dimensions of your drawer, the pieces are designed so you can always scale them in whatever direction you wish by the same percentage and they will fit your drawer. Is your drawer 300mm long and 150mm deep? Just scale both pieces 50% in all dimensions and boom you have a divider in 2 pieces that will fit your drawer.

HOW TO SCALE

Desired drawer divider length / 2 = scale percentage of each piece.

EXAMPLE:

If your desired drawer divider length is 350mm, then divide that by 2 = 175 and this is your scale percentage for each divider piece. You simply change the length axis scale to 175% for both pieces and they will fit together snugly and fit your drawer.

Manage the height independently. My drawer is 125mm deep so I scale to 125%

Print laying down with a 3-5mm brim. You can print with 1% gyroid infill and 2 wall loops at 0.5mm line width. Use Arachne wall generator in Bambu studio for best results. 1% Gyroid infill adds very little material but creates vertical walls inside the part for added rigidity.

Combine the two parts with superglue or don't. This version is stable enough that no glue is needed for stability. Double sided tape on the T ends can work to hold the divider in place in the drawer however I have found success with printing 2mm too small and adding some flexible silicone tabs to one end and “wedging” the divider in place where it stays under tension.
