Bill of Materials
- Glass pane x 1: 15 x 10 cm
Description
This is a bike themed picture frame! For my own picture frame I added bikes to the frame (files can be found here), and I added a date at the bottom.
The picture frame is thick enough to stand on its own, and as such has no stand. You can also put it on an angle against a surface. If you want a version with stand, feel free to let me know in the comments :)
Important info
Glass pane:
For this picture frame you need a glass pane around 15 x 10 cm big. The model assumes a pane thickness of ~1.7 mm. If your pane is thicker or smaller, adjust by scaling (or cutting) the difference for the “Picture frame - back” part. Example:
Your pane is 2.0 mm thick. Adjust the back piece to be (1.7 - 2.0 = -0.3) 0.3 mm thinner than normal.
Your pane is 1.2 mm thick. Adjust the back piece to be (1.7 - 1.2 = 0.5) 0.5 mm thicker than normal.
What to print:
- 1x frame
- 1x back
- 2x notch
- 2x pin
How to print:
For all parts, simply lay the part on the largest flat surface. For the frame this means the notch cutouts face up. None of the parts need supports or brims.
How to assemble:
To insert the notches, push the pins through the notches such that the round section of the pin is flush with the top surface of the notch. Using a hard flat surface such as a kitchen top or a desk can be useful for this, simply place the pin on the surface and press the notch down until it's flush with the pin. Once the notches are nicely attached to the pins, apply a tiny amount of glue to the bottom of the pins (be careful you don't glue the notches to the pins), and push the pins in the frame.
Finally, place your glass pane in the frame. Insert your picture, lay the back piece on top, and close the notches.
Enjoy!
