Description

This model allows you to place the SwitchBot Bot over a raised button, but still allows you to press the button yourself.

Here's a demo that maybe better illustrates what I mean (the yellow part is a double-sided tape): https://imgur.com/KRUCc1R

I initially bought the SwitchBot Bot to press the raised button on my intercom to unlock the doors, but when it arrived, I realized that it's more suited for buttons that can be pushed in. And if I just placed it on a higher surface, it would kind of block the small button from being easily accessible manually. So I designed this, and I'm also including STEP files so you can modify it as you see fit.

Few design notes:

  • SwitchBot slides from the side, this allows removal of it to replace batteries or similar, without having to take the whole thing off.
  • The pin is designed in a way that it can not fall on either side when in use.
  • The tolerances are pretty generous, but increase them if your printer is not capable of meeting the requirements.

Print notes:

  • 0.2mm layer height
  • PLA works just fine
  • 3 walls
  • Pin requires support in the upper parts since circles don't print well in air. I recommend tree supports.
  • There's a BambuStudio project file included, take a look at that to see how I printed it.
