Description

This is a convenient hook that you can apply to any shelf or tabletop. The assembly consists of 3 parts: the base, the hook, and the knob the hook attaches to. Due to having a seperate knob, the hook can be rotated to face in any direction. All versions of the base work with all versions of the hook. If you'd like a specific hook or base measurement or variant, feel free to request it in the comments!

How to print + additional info:

Base:
To print the base, lay it flat on either edge side (so all 3 walls are going up). This gives the part the most strength. If you need the hook to hold up a substantial amount of weight (like for the hair dryers in the picture), increase the amount of wall loops.

There are currently 2 base options available, a big one and a small one.

The small base can be used for shelves around ~1.7 cm thick (the gap of the base itself is 1.79 cm high). The small base is 2.5 cm wide.

The big base can be used for shelves around ~3 cm thick (the gap of the base itself is 3.1 cm high). The big base is 5 cm wide.

You can also make the gap thinner by adding some felt, as shown in the pictures.

Hook:

To print the hook, position it such that the flat underside of the threaded portion is on the bed. Use tree supports on the little edge on the top of the thread, and on the hook itself. To increase strength, you can increase the amount of wall loops. To help with the thread, I recommend you print this piece with a layer height of 0.1 mm.

For the big hook split in halves, lay each half on the flat side. Once again, use a layer height of 0.1 mm to help with the thread, and increase wall loops for added strength. No supports are needed. After printing, insert the 3 pins for alignment, apply a bit of superglue, and press the second half on.

There are currently 3 hook options available, a big hook, the same big hook divided in 2 halves, and a small hook.

The small hook has a diameter of 0.4 cm, and follows a curve with a radius of 0.7 cm.
The big hook has a diameter of 0.785 cm (which is flush to the knob), and follows a curve with a radius of 2 cm.

The big hook split in halves has the same dimensions as the normal big hook, but is split in half for a much stronger print.

Knob:

There's only 1 version of the knob, which works with all current versions of the base and hook. Orient it such that the big flat side lays on the bed with the thread opening up top. No supports or brim needed. To help with the thread, I recommend you print this piece with a layer height of 0.1 mm.

Enjoy!
