Description

This is a prize which makes satisfying clicking sounds when spun. It uses a standard 608 skateboard bearing (22mm OD, 8mm ID, 7mm W) and 2 M3x10 flathead screws. Assembly is pretty straighforward. Press fit the bearing, snap on the wheel cover, press the clicker into the arrow cap, and screw the arrow cap into the frame.

Needs at least a 200x200mm bed to print.

The tolerances in this are generally about 100 microns, except for the bearing mount which is an exact fit. If you have trouble fitting the bearing, throw it in the freezer for a few hours to shrink it down.

There is also a STEP file if you want to play with the design. Enjoy!

Printed fine, I used PLA and the piece that clicks seems a bit stiff so it stops very quickly, i may try a silk and see how that works

I find that it wears down after a couple of spins. If that isn't working for you, you can try different materials. I have also had some success with just trimming a small amount off the end of the clicker so it has less engagement with the spokes.

I made this to let my kids spin the wheel after they earned a spin for good behavior. only thing that I don't like is how the wheel rubs against the stand when it spins.

There is a small amount of clearance between the wheel and the rest of the base. Depending on how straight your bearing is in the wheel and how much play it has, it may rub against the base, although none of mine have had that issue so far. If you have access to a parametric editor, you can increase the height of the small shoulder that the bearing rests on to suit your needs. Just make sure to add the same amount to the clicker cap so everything lines up nicely!

Edit: sorry, I just seen the blank one in the stl list :) You're amazing. This is perfect for a stall I'm doing at work in the summer! How would I change the text though please? I open in bambu but can only add more text, not edit the stuff that's on it. Cheers!

Edit: Whoops, I didn't get the notification for the edit. Looks like you've got it! If you open the blank wheel you can add text to it in the slicer. It should just have the dividers. You can also open the STEP file in a parametric editor (Onshape, FreeCAD, SOLIDWORKS, etc) and add the text that way.
