My children were looking for some linking cubes and I printed a few of them and all seemed to have issues, they might fit together, but then weren't high resolution circles, so the faces would bind, the corners were sharp and once the peg was seated if you try to remove it, it would break, so I took the time to design the first of many items. One linking cube, can be printed as a toy, can be printed as a purge block (Flush to object and infill)
Purge block setup:
- Set up your model, paint it and then bring in the linking cube or cubes
- It's recommended to match the height of the object with the cubes (higher ones to be released soon)
- In bambu slicer Go to Process, Objects, Select the Cube, Others and select ‘flush to object’ and ‘flush to object infill’
- Slice the file with ‘Preview’, look at the ‘Flush’ value, it will have decreased
- Right click and clone the linking blocks, you should notice the decrease in the purge value
- (Note: you will see some increase in the total filament used, only keep adding cubes to the point that you are comfortable to use)
- Print your file, and give your cubes to your kids and watch them use their imagination
