Description

The Liahona is a significant artifact from the Book of Mormon, a sacred text of the Latter-day Saint movement. Described as a small, brass ball of curious workmanship, the Liahona contained two spindles which pointed the direction Lehi's family should travel in the wilderness. Remarkably, the device functioned according to the faith and diligence of those using it, and also provided written messages from time to time, offering guidance and warnings. The Liahona symbolizes divine guidance and the importance of faith and obedience in receiving direction from God. Its story serves as an allegory for spiritual guidance in the lives of believers, emphasizing the need for continuous faith and adherence to divine commandments to receive continual guidance.

This came out awesome! I turned on variable layer height and switched from using PLA support material to using the colored filament for support on the bottom though. It was easier to remove, came out very clean, and took less filament since it avoided all the purging.

It looks even better with the compass mounted.

I got the compass at Amazon. I had to use needlenose pliers to pull the chain loop off, remove the hinge pivot, and flatten the hinge metal to get it to fit, but it wasn't that hard. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076CF4P5B?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

This is some pretty curious workmanship if you ask me. Do you use a screw for the hinge? What size? I ended up using a small piece of filament for the hinge pin.

I used a piece of filament with a melted end instead of a screw.

Very cool model. Assembly instructions could be helpful. If not, maybe a reminder scriptural reference for instructions could work. ;)

Great model, do you mind me asking how you came about this design, because the BOM doesn’t give a super great description, so did you just do what felt right or what?

Support Issue:Hard to remove supports. Quality is excellent. Artistic value is beautiful.
Other Issues:Would be nice to have assembly instructions

the base cover piece only fits on 1 way. there are scalped edges on 1 of the 4 bar sections. line that to and it'll fit no issues. the quarter sizes circle is used to over the inside of the top portion were the supports were. however, if you print it correctly supports are not needed for the top piece. just slow down on the over hangs and it should work. if it doesn't then print the circle and cover it up
