Description
Modular Overhead Camera Rig
Ever wish you could get those sleek overhead shots without dropping a ton of cash? This rig’s got you covered. It snaps together around basic PVC pipe and a handful of M6 bolts—and every piece is 3D-printable on your home printer.
What’s the deal?
It’s basically a build-your-own camera arm for anyone who loves DIY. Perfect for:
- Unboxings and product demos
- Painting miniatures or crafting dioramas
- Flat-lay food or product photography
- Any time you need that bird’s-eye angle
Print the pieces, slide them onto your PVC, tighten a few bolts, and you’re ready to roll.
Why you’ll love it
- Totally modular: Want new module ? Craft new modules using your favorite 3d Modeling Software and Print an extra section. Need a new joint? No problem.
- Super cheap: PVC pipe (half inch), a few M6 bolts to attach your camera—and you’re in business.
- Printer-friendly: All parts fit on a standard 200×200 mm bed.
- Solid and steady: Bracket shapes are engineered to cut down on wobble.
- Zero glue: Just a wrench and you’re set.
What you need on hand
- A 3D printer (200 × 200 mm build plate)
- Your favorite filament (PLA, PETG, etc.)
- PVC pipe cut to whatever lengths you like
- M6 Bolts to attach your camera
Who’s this for?
- Makers shooting tutorial videos or stop-motion scenes
- Teachers demoing hands-on projects
- Photographers on a budget who still want that pro look
And because it’s under CC BY 4.0, feel free to tweak, remix, and share. Just give credit where it’s due!
