Description

An editable nameplate for a door or display purposes. It includes an optional border so you can add a different color around the edges.

IMPORTANT:

The nameplate should be printed with a 0.2mm nozzle for good results. (The Federation logo will show the fine detail, and the letters will be nice and crisp.) The border can be printed with a 0.4. In fact, I recommend using a 0.4 for the border or it will take 3 hours to print it. The Bambu Studio project was saved with a 0.2mm nozzle using a profile of .1mm layer height at high quality.

The font I used is called Arian LT. It can be freely downloaded from the Internet.

If you use the new profile with 4 walls, print time with a 0.2 nozzle is approximately 5 hours for the nameplate. Make sure that you reposition any text after editing. All objects on the plate should be a height of 0.4 and positioned at 0.65 on the Z axis.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Load the file into Bambu Studio for editing.
  • Click on “Objects” in the Process section.
  • Select “Name” from the list of objects on Plate 2.
  • Click the Text Shape button on the Bambu Studio toolbar or hit “T” on your keyboard.
  • Enter the name you want displayed on the plate.
  • Select “Rank” from the list of objects on Plate 2 to enter the rank.
  • Align the name and rank to your liking.

This was designed to be printed in 4 colors, and the profile has the AMS set up this way:

  • Slot 1: White PLA
  • Slot 2: Black PLA
  • Slot 3: Silk Silver PLA
  • Slot 4: Blue PLA

You can arrange your AMS however you want, but you may need to recolor elements on the plate. To do that, right-click on the object in the list of objects and change it to a new filament color.

I'm sorry your dad isn't around, but I really appreciate the sentiment and your comment.

I printed it for my sister, and the 0.2mm extruded head was replaced by 0.4mm, with 0.16 on the first floor and 0.08 on the back, and the effect is still good.

Looks great. I think the one area that really needs the 0.2 nozzle is the star background in the blue globe. When I designed it, I initially designed that as a separate part to be printed separately. I probably should have stuck with that. :)

Replying to @cheshire :
Next time I'll try 0.2 nozzle printing, I need to find some good materials.

Printed the White border piece with .4mm nozzle and the inlay with the .2mm nozzle. Excellent design!

It came out excellent with a 4 mm nozzle but I could definitely see how it would benefit from a 2 mm nozzle as the poster recommended but I have no complaints.

Depends on your OS. I would do an Internet search.
