The parent is pretty good, but not without some tolerance and design issues. I may make other remixes for the tolerance issues, but at very least I wanted to share these improved discs, in STEP and STL format for sizes 53-57 mm in 1 mm increments, and a organizing stand I made for them.
The discs are improved in a few ways :
- They have conical exterior profiles to match the rods and end-caps. This leads to a better fit/without slipping and wobbling.
- They're in STEP format and high-poly STL. This prevents weird artifacts on the Bambu printers that don't like low-poly STLs with low-poly-approximated circles. These discs produce clean arc moves when printed!
- Unlike scaling the discs in the parent, they all have the right center hole size, so you don't create issues that you encounter when scaling the parent 50/55 discs.
- Remodeled from scratch, with Fusion360 file included… so you can make your own!
53 mm works for my bambu spools and bambu printed spools. 54-56 sizes seem to work for cardboard spools from overture, California filaments (I use this stuff) and Polymaker cardboard.
