While repairing a G304 with a faulty micro switch, I had a sudden idea to modify the G304's casing by referencing the hollow mouse I was using, using a G100s-like bottom shell designed by FortyOne on Thingiverse for secondary design

 

In short, the result is a lightweight shell (bottom shell + battery cover) for G304/G305 mice, to be used with the original inner shell

Compared to the original shell, the weight without battery has been reduced by 13g from 75g to 62g

 

The bottom shell model has been optimized for FDM 3D printing, eliminating overhangs that might affect printing quality, it can be printed without supports (The Bambu Lab ABS I just opened might be a bit damp, stringing and missing material are more noticeable. Using PLA filament might result in a better surface, but with insufficient strength)

 

In practice, I found that overly thin spokes can significantly negatively impact the surface quality of the model, so I designed two battery covers, the gaps between the battery cover and the bottom shell have been matched, resulting in a decent fit for the finished product, depending on the printing material and parameters, some sanding or post-processing of the model may still be required overall, I cannot guarantee that everyone will achieve a successful print on the first try

 

The models on plate 4 and plate 6 have extra supports, which can increase the stability of the model's bottom, making it less likely to be dislodged by the print head or fan, after printing, simply pull it off and separate it with flush cutters, if you are concerned about battery instability, I have reserved space for soft pads, 2-3mm EVA soft pads can be used

 

It is recommended to set a significant speed reduction during printing, use tree supports for printing the battery shell, if stringing is severe, you can address it accordingly, I'm not very good at adjusting parameters, so I won't give random advice
