Description

Remixed a combination of the tool holder connector from AMS Riser V2 by maCyo42 and the V1 Sunlu S2 AMS riser mount by fink6545. This is my first time ever doing any CAD stuff or uploading anything to Maker World so if I messed something up please let me know!

This is a great addition to the AMS Riser. I initially printed with the designer settings of 10% infill and 2 wall loops, and it came out feeling a little too light to hold the weight of the dryer plus a full spool. The second one I printed out (on the left) I used 30% infill and 5 wall loops. This came out feeling stronger for sure. I’ll keep the 10% mount on the right in case it breaks one day the dryer won’t fall far. Both printed in Atomic Filament PETG Turquoise.

Looks awesome and having two S2 dryers mounted like that is pretty cool! I agree that 2 walls and 10% infill felt light but once I put it on with the S2 and the full spool of TPU it didn’t really flex so I just went with it. I honestly planned on just using the original print profile as a quick prototype but it worked well, felt sturdy and printed fast so that’s why I posted that print profile. Thanks for the feedback!

Did you use PLA or PETG? I'm considering using PETG but would need to order more, so if PLA works fine, that'd be awesome.

Hey, I just got done printing this and was wondering are we supposed to remove the original feet and use the screw holes in this holder ? The design makes me think so, but I don't want to make a mistake :)

I am wondering the same thing. It is a little tipsy sitting up there the way it is, and the pillars line up with screws on the bottom of the s2. I tried to take the screws out and they are super short and the legs don’t come off (easily). They are pointed screws, and not bolts, so I’m unsure of what size/length to get.

this appears to be the original base: https://makerworld.com/models/49135 Comments say #6x3/4” metal screws work. There was also a comment that said they used m3 heat inserts in the base of the S2 to use m3 bolts. I’ll try the #6 screws this week.

@fwilhelmy I can now confirm that #6 3/4” metal screws work great to mount the S2 to this mount!

All good, thank you for the design! However, I don’t have so much space and added a print profile with a slim version

hey, did you try to use the dryer as external spoolholder? I can imagine, that the angle is too high so it won't feed pretty well. any experience?

Yes and it ran fine with the Bowden tube pushed through the front port and directly connected to the X1c. I ran my TPU through it for the gaskets for my riser and it was fine. I did go ahead and print an adapter that lets it run out the front and put that in when I run it now for easier setup. I’ll see if I can’t post a link to the one I printed.

For me it looks like I need to drill a new hole on the lower part of the dryer.... Do you have some pictures how it is installed correctly?
