Description

Hello everyone!

Today I want to present to you the first ever completely free Cinderwing3D Dragon - The Bamboo Dragon! Bambulab reached out to me asking if I wanted to make a dragon for them and seeing how I use their printers for prototyping.... it was an easy yes!

As with all my designs this model is an easy print-in-place and requires no supports. All you need is a clean bed and you're off! I also have included two 3MF files for multicolor, as shown in the pictures!

Print Settings: .2 Layer height, 15% infill, gyroid infill, no brim, and no supports. Please feel free to join our Discord chat for help and discussions.

Filaments used were Bambu Green PLA Basic, Bambu Red PLA Basic, and Gold Bambu Silk PLA! Feel free to use my affiliate link to grab some for yourself!

The Green Gradient filament can be found here!
The Green and Brown Gradient can be found here!
And the Tricolor is here!

Super fun design! The tail is extraordinary and one of my favorites. This dragon is easily going in one of my top 5 from CW. Pics are of the final test version of the model prior to release.

Do you change anything in the over hang settings the dragons?

I designed this one specfically to have as little overhang as possible, so you should be good as is!

I have failed this print twice now 😕. It seems like it keeps lifting off the plate about 20 hours in. Any tips to finally succeed? It looks so cool so I can’t wait to finally do it. Using pla (basic bambu green, basic red, gold silk). 1st attempt on smooth hot plate with glue, 2nd attempt on textured plate with no glue.

Thank you! Someone online suggested changing the grid pattern as well, so I will return and report how it goes!

I had the exact same problem as well with it failing a little past 70%. First print for me to ever have had this problem. My kids still love it though. X1C with the golden PEI textured plate, no glue.

Beautiful model, printed fantastic. A1mini, .4 nozzle, .2 layer, 15% gyroid, no supports, no brim, 95% scale, removed Prime Tower. Bambu PLA Bambu Green, Bambu PLA Yellow, Bambu PLA Tough Red. Might re-print in the future with all wood PLA but “as is” this is just incredible ❣️
