Description

Let me introduce my new 3D-printable tool, designed to guarantee you maximum precision when centering holes and drawing guidelines on the thickness of any panel!

This tool is the ideal companion for woodworkers, hobbyists, and makers.

Here's what makes it indispensable:

  • Multi-Diameter Drill Guides: No more guessing! The design includes integrated guides for drill bits with diameters of 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 mm, allowing you to drill safely and precisely at the center of your panel's thickness.

  • Integrated Pencil Guide: Need to mark the center line before drilling? No problem! There's a dedicated guide to insert a pencil, enabling you to draw a precise line along the entire thickness of the material.

  • Smooth and Precise Movement: The main body of the tool features threaded holes designed for bearing insertion. This engineering detail ensures incredibly smooth and effortless gliding while you draw your center line, guaranteeing impeccable results.

  • Storage Box: Keep your gear organized.

To achieve the best strength and durability, especially given the required precision, I highly recommend printing this tool in PETG.

printed using Bambulab’s HF PETG. It’s a bit tight fitting the big corrugate part inside the the holder but with a lighter and minutes of shoving it in/out, it now fits perfectly.

print the case at 101%... there's a good chance this part will not come back out without damage.

Other Issues:Unfortunately the model is unusable 😐 The threads of the pen holder and attachments are not compatible The attachments are extremely difficult to screw in The pen holder fits so tightly in the storage box that I cannot even remove it with force Either it is due to the PLA used or the model itself

Many users have printed it without issues and haven’t encountered the problem you’re experiencing. It’s very likely that the issue comes from the filament — it may have absorbed moisture, or it simply needs calibration. In all the models I’ve published, I recommend using PETG for tools because of its flexibility, long-term durability, and resistance to stress. Try printing it in PETG if you feel like it and let me know how it goes.

The filament was new, so I would rule out excessively high humidity. The only strange thing is that the pen holder is the only part that doesn't fit quite right. Everything else looks good. The box opens and closes. Inside the box everything fits perfectly, the pen holder is great. Maybe I will print it again in PETG when I have the opportunity
