Description

This little camera case goes together mostly without screws.

The front ‘glass’ is just some recycled clear plastic from common product packaging, this can be easily cut to shape with scissors.

I was going to make a full build instruction video for this project but I am now saving that for a larger version that I am still designing.

I thought I would upload this more compact version (even though it has ugly wiring and no illuminator) incase someone happens to be looking for a simple IPC housing.

Required parts for basic camera functionality:

  • 1x 4010 fan (24v)
  • 1x IPC board (they are usually all the same size)
  • 2x M3x16 screw for fan
  • 2x M2x10 screw for IPC board
  • 1x Long DC barrel power lead
  • 1x Long CAT5 ethernet cable
  • 2x 4x4 brass M3 threaded insert
  • 3x M3x12 screw for PY mount
  • 12V DC power supply
  • A network router/switch with a spare ethernet port free
  • A computer with display to monitor the video stream

Getting this camera functional was difficult / advanced, so I make no guarantees that you will have success, reliability is also not guaranteed. I found that playback would sometimes freeze up in VLC, I'm not sure why. Build and use at your own risk.
