The inner diameter of the lid is to small for the new base. Did you compensate for the increased diameter of the base?

About 20 minutes of working the lid back and forth I got the threads to maite with each other

It works well, i think it's a little thin but it doesn't seem too weak

Had the same issue thread to thin on container, made it into a tiny slinky
