This container designed to replace the standard cotton bud containers. This model is based on the old pepper style containers with a rotation lid mounted on top of a threaded lid. When rotated, it will expose a hole which will permit the dispensing of cotton buds.
Once cotton buds are dispensed, the lid can then be rotated to close the dispenser. This dispenser can be used both in the bathroom or in the travel bag alike. The lid and container have a knurled pattern to aid with grip with very finely tuned thread to remove the lid when you need to restock the container with cotton buds.
The container can be fully printed at home and assembled using the printed split pin, or if you want a sturdier solution you will need a M5 x 6mm Chicago Screw which can be readily bought on Amazon (Chicago Screw on Amazon UK) and some Loctite 242 (Loctite 242 on Amazon).
Assembly instructions are pretty self-explanatory however if you were to use the Chicago Screw, keep in mind that however tight you make the Chicago Screw will determine the ease of rotating the Rotational Lid. I would suggest you also put a small dab of Loctite 242 on the thread of the screw prior to assembly and then tighten the screw to the desired force required to rotate the lid. This will require you to test and adjust the tightness of the Chicago Screw by rotating the lid whilst the Loctite 242 has not yet set.
If you were to go down the route of the printed Split Pin, no Loctite will be needed and it is just a simple case of assembling the Bud Buddy!
I have designed if such the parts can be printed in different colours if one so wishes.
