CheeseBoard – A Modular Mounting Platform for Electronics
Many electronic projects require compact, organized component layouts.
The CheeseBoard provides a flexible, easy-to-print board for mounting and organizing components on a scalable grid-based board.
Key Features:
- Unit-based sizing: 1 Unit (U) = 12mm. Board Size range from 4x4 units (48 x 48 mm) up to 20x20 U (=240 x 240 mm) - ideal for standard 3D printer.
- Flexible mounting: Three methods of fixing components, including the simplest - zip ties.
- Light-weight and easy to print: Only 2mm thick, NO support required, and minimal material usage due to the integrated holes.
- Double-sided use: Components can be mounted on both sides.
- Stackable design Use layer connectors (4U = 24 mm, 6U = 36 mm) to assemble vertically.
- Great ventilation: Holes provide excellent airflow.
- Esthetics: wires can be neatly routed beneath the board through the holes.
Attachment Methods:
- Zip ties (2–4mm): Simple, tool-free, fastened via holes or edge grooves, ideal for hardware-free cable routing or fastening.
- Screws: Designed adapters compatible for M3 screws and nuts.
- Connectors: Clip-in connectors specifically designed to fit the large holes for tool-free mounting.
All methods are secure, shock-resistant, and reusable.
Mounting Options:
The CheeseBoard can be printed w/wo legs.
- With legs: Leg is 6mm tall per unit and with M3 screw-compatible holes or with connectors (this option is good if you wish to connect the board on top of another CheeseBoard).
- Without legs: A flat board with 4mm holes — mount it your with M3 screw.
Measurements:
- Board thickness: 2mm
- Hole sizes: 4mm (small), 7mm (large)
- Unit Size: 12mm
- Height unit: size: 6mm
Currently Available Adapters:
- Arduino R4 (screws)
- 9V Battery case (connectors)
- 170-pin mini Breadboard (screws)
- 400-pin Half size Breadboard (connectors)
- Cable guide (connectors)
- Layer connectors – 4U, 6U (connectors)
