The USM Haller office table system is great, especially their computer mounting system “CPU holder” (CPU-Halter). Since more and more companies are switching to notebooks, they are not used anymore and you get them for quite a nice price on sources like ebay.
Downside is: they are designed to be mounted on very specific rail with cutouts on the USM Haller desk system - but i wanted to use them on my regular, good old flat top desk, so i designed this adapter.
BOM
- 1x “USM Haller CPU holder”
- 6x M4x25 screws
- 6x 4,3x15 washers
- 6x M4 nuts
- 2x M4x10 screw (you can use 2 of the original screws)
- 6x Screws to mount the adapter to the desk (4x35 wood screws for example)
Printing
- flat on the build plate
- supports only on build plate
- i used 6 walls, 5 top & bottom shells, 30 % infill
- use a ductile and somewhat elastic filament (PETG or ABS), but avoid brittle filaments like PLA with catastrophic failure modes
- since you'll hang your PC on that thing, don't save on filament and time :)
Assembly
- Remove the mounting angle from the USM Haller CPU holder (6x M4 screws)
- Place the holder piece on the Adapter and mount the M4x25 Screws with washers and nuts
- Screw in the 2 smaller M4 screws to the front face
- Mount the holder on your desk with the provided screw holes
- Hang the PC on the holder (like it is done on the orginal USM desks)
