𧊠Large Kumiko Desk Organizer Tower
â ď¸ Print Warning & Tips for Best Results
This design uses detailed Kumiko-style patterns that push the limits of FDM resolution.
đ ď¸ Recommended Settings:
- Layer Height: 0.16 mm or finer
- Wall Count: 3
- Speed: Reduce to 50% after the base finishes to improve pattern accuracy
- Brim: Use a 5 mm brim for better bed adhesion
- Cooling: Enable fan for overhangs
đĄ Tips:
- Some printers may struggle with sharp internal angles at high speed
- Consider enabling âArachneâ or âadaptive line widthâ (if supported) for crisper detail
- If parts of the pattern fail to print cleanly, try slowing down the external walls or increasing minimum feature size settings in your slicer
𧊠A future update will include an alternate version with slightly larger pattern lines for easier printing. Thanks for your patience and feedback!
Modular. Elegant. Built for real-world desk clutter.
This is not your average organizer. The Large Kumiko Desk Organizer Tower is a fully modular vertical storage system, featuring a striking Kumiko-inspired frame with removable trays that print without supports, require no AMS, and slide into place at a 15° tilt â keeping your tools, pens, and accessories securely in place while offering excellent visibility and access.
Itâs functional, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed for customization â making it just as perfect for workspaces as it is for studios, craft rooms, and maker benches..

đ¨ď¸ Printing Details:
Everything is designed to print without supports â yes, even the intricate Kumiko outer frame.
- Orientation:
- Do not rotate the tower body â it must remain upright to preserve the Kumiko detail fidelity
- Brim:
- 5 mm wide outer brim added to all files
- 0.16 mm brim gap for easy separation â most parts pop free cleanly
- For tighter spots, a quick pass with a deburring tool or sharp utility knife works perfectly
- White stress lines? A gentle heat pass (hair dryer or heat gun on low) will make them vanish
- Layer Heights:
- Tower Body: 0.16 mm
- Inserts: 0.20 mm
- Walls:
- Tower Body: 3 walls
- Inserts: 2â3 walls (depending on insert complexity â heavier ones use 3)
- Infill:
- 15% Gyroid throughout for good strength and minimal weight
âąď¸ Time & Material Use:
- Estimated Full Print Time: 2 days, 5 hours, 39 minutes
- Total Material Use (all inserts included): ~1538.88 g
â ď¸ Note: This is a modular system, so you can print only what you need â skipping unused inserts or duplicating your favorites. Most users wonât need the full set, which drastically reduces both print time and filament use.
đ¨ Customization Tips:
- Print your tower in black or a dark neutral and your inserts in a contrasting color (light blue, white, neon, etc.) for the Kumiko pattern to pop
- Mix and match inserts for different functions â pens, tools, small storage, or even decorative inserts
- Easily reconfigure or expand by printing extra trays later
