Description

A scabbard for my version of the Master Sword. The interior is sized for the blade with a 1mm tolerance. Should give enough wiggle room while still holding. I added a sleeve in the back of the top gold piece that can fit a standard 1.5" (38mm) belt. I hope that this will be work for anyone that wants to wear it.

The scabbard is model after the version seen in Twilight Princess. Mostly since there are very high resolution images of it available. I plan to add different gold piece designs once I am happy with this version. A skyward sword version and a shrunken child sized version are planned.

Printing:

This model is designed for multi color printing as an option. All parts are sliced so that they are solid color through to the center. This prevents excessive color changes when an entire layer only need to be one color.

Each section is glued together with a joiner piece. Each piece is a little different. Make sure they are put in the proper order and direction. The scabbard is slightly tapered and does get smaller the lower is goes.

hi Neebick, this looks amazing. Any chances of you adapting this for the child version of the sword? maybe with a beefier hook or even two. I would love to cosplay my 3 year old child as Link for his birthday and your models are awesome. Thanks!

great model, you may need to sand the inside, but it's well worth it

I am not trying to be cheeky or sarcastic with this question - but how exactly would you go about "sanding the inside"?

Excellent model! I'd strongly recommend using support filament on the interface layer for easier and cleaner removal. Printing the parts vertically with a brim may also fix the issue, but I didn't try that. The photo shows the result of the included print profile with and without the support material.

Support Issue:not printable with profile, supports weld themselves to every surface as well as appearing inside the strap handle.

Is there a chance you or someone can split the different colored parts for the people without AMS?

I second this for the people with no AMS, would really apreciate the ability to print this with the filament colours i already have instead of having to paint it

upon further experimentation ive figured out that in bambu studio at least you can use the split objects feature to separate the blue and gold parts, you just have to click out of the piece that youve split and click back on it to drag them apart on the plate, its the clicking out and back in part that i missed which lead me to believe that it couldnt be colour printed without an AMS hope this helps anyone else with similar concerns.
