Just my take on a page holder for reading. I printed a bunch from someone else and wanted to make my own version with a few changes. These things are quick and easy to print and make great handouts at parties or gatherings. People really like 'em!
First - the entire thing was built with layer height in mind, allowing for smaller layers around the chamfers and fillets of the edges, while still printing the body at a greater thickness to save a little time.
Second, I wanted the hole to have a slight angle in it to better fit how I hold my books. This does mean they ideally work only on left hands however they still fit and feel fine on right hands as well. You could mirror it if you'd like a right-handed version.
Beyond there, I really enjoy using co-extrusion filament (like AMOLEN RGB) to it's fullest potential, aiming to get as many variations off the plate at one time as possible. I talk about that some in my video about surface quality actually.
The provided print profile has some manually painted Z Seam lines to keep them out of areas you'll handle, height range modifiers for quality finish, and a few different plates depending on what you want to print. Anything purple is meant to be co-extrusion and prints with Hilbert Curve top and bottom surfaces, while anything in white is using plain ol' monotonic and works best with solid color filaments.
The “8x Co-Extrusion” plate has the infill orientation set on each model to ensure a clean top surface finish in only three layers. It yields some really neat results!
The only plate that requires a single filament change is “2x Individual Sample,” printing in co-extrusion first then in a solid color. This is a good way to see if your co-extrusion filament will work the way you want, or if you should stick to a solid color.
The rest are either for bulk printing or one-off samples. The samples are oriented so you could theoretically print them all without having to clean or re-glue your plate (printing in different places).
No brims as I print these on tPEI plates.
