A boost would really help me out if you liked this model! Thanks!
I was looking for a way to stop the cable and PTFE tube from occasionally getting snagged on the z axis of my A1 Mini, and was hoping I could find a handle that would help. Couldn't find any that did, and the handle that I tried actually increased the risk of snagging. So I reluctantly resolved to design and print my own.
The design I settled on incorporates a sloped handle that has as few places as possible for the cable to get hooked on. I have tried to design it so that it sits as flush as possible with the linear rail. The ring shape of the handle not only looks pretty good (in my opinion), but also serves to keep the handle small but still strong.
The handle prints perfectly with no supports. The print profile is for 4 walls with 15% gyroid infill and feels plenty sturdy to me. I also incorporated some modifiers around the screw holes for solid infill.
There are two versions:
- Plate 1. Recommended: For improved strength this version uses longer screws than those used for the z-axis top that comes installed with the printer. You'll need three M3x12 machine screws (I bought mine from the Bambu Store).
- Plate 2. The other version just uses the stock screws that screw in the original end cap.
