Escape the daily grind with the 'Ball Maze' game - your perfect desk companion! Designed to transform idle moments into engaging challenges, this intriguing puzzle is not just a game, it's a delightful mental diversion right at your workplace. Whether it's a brief break between meetings or a creative pause in a hectic day, 'Ball Maze' offers a fun and stimulating way to refresh your mind.
I intentionally designed it to be modular, paving the way for future upgrades like varied levels and a plexiglass front. If you're keen on designing some levels, feel free to send me a message. I'll provide you with a basic template for Fusion 360 to get you started.
For optimal assembly, use a textured PEI sheet for the bottom part and a smooth PEI plate for the maze and top. This combination ensures the parts fit together as snugly as possible. To prevent warping and avoid unnecessary discussions in the comments, make sure your printer bed has excellent adhesion. The default print settings should suffice for this project. No supports are needed during the printing process.
It's crucial to let all parts cool down on the plate and the print bed. This step is especially important for the labyrinth plate, as it prevents the parts from bending or warping during the cooldown phase. By ensuring a gradual and even cooling, you'll maintain the integrity and precision of each component.
Please be aware that employing two different colors or types of filament in your printing process might lead to slight dimensional inconsistencies. These variations could potentially impact the aesthetics of the final product, so it's important to consider this possibility when planning your print.
You have the option to scale down the entire model by approximately 10-15%. However, I wouldn't advise reducing it more than that, as doing so might compromise the tolerances and potentially affect the assembly and functionality of the model.
Set the labyrinth plate onto the bottom section, ensuring that the guiding slots are properly aligned. Then, gently press it into place. The fit is snug due to precise tolerances, yet it requires minimal force. Follow the same procedure to attach the top part. All components of this design are engineered to fit together seamlessly, relying purely on friction. Therefore, there's no need for any adhesive or glue to assemble the parts. Once assembled, you're ready to enjoy the game.
The primary goal is to navigate a small metal ball through the maze from the starting point to the designated end point, avoiding pitfalls and obstacles.
