I've noticed some feedback that my default profile does not perform well on A1 series, mainly because of the overhang of the barrel and main body.

As I don't have a A1/A1 mini printer to verify, please be cautious if you would like to challenge on A1/A1 mini. And I would appreciate if anyone could share his/her A1 profile if succeeded.

-----------------

Story continued from https://makerworld.com/zh/models/39368#profileId-38480

Once the kids know what their dad is capable, their dad got mind blown. So this time, I started from scratch and made them happy again.

This model works as the thumbnail GIF demonstrated.

The total range is around 7~8m, effective range is around 3~4m, should not worry about breaking your window, but I won't recommend to try it.

The assembly manual is in the thumbnails, should not be hard for you as you have already own a printer.

As I am not a glue fan, this time I adjusted the fitting relatively tight, especially when installing the “hand support”. My suggestion is applying some lubricant and use a small hammer gently.

----------------------

There are 3 parts need to be prepared separately

  1. bow string: the rubber diameter no more than 2 mm should be OK. I bought from here
  2. rubber ring: I used the same rubber ring with my katana, the folding diameter is 60mm
  3. PTFE tube: you could cut from your AMS. I did that.

----------------------

I am not a aerodynamics expert. Although I tried several approaches, I could not find a better bullet shape rather than ball shape. I really hope anyone would like to help to design a good bullet shape.

Not gonna lie, wish the barrel was just a hair bigger to accommodate about 25mm. This would accommodate most Nerf darts except the XL 30mm ones. Any chance I can get the CAD file to see if its possible to remix it slightly bigger?

Second that! Having a NERF crossbow would be awesome!

Thank you for the hint. Actually I am going to buy one set of nerf darts.

@niltsh I spent a lot of time scaling it in the slicer 140% in only X and Y, some parts only in Z. The bow front parts I had to split and JB weld together. Finishing tonight and I'll post my make. But yes, simply enlarging the barrel would solve this lol.

Has anyone successfully printed this on the A1? My son has attempted this twice now, and is having overhang issues on both the main body parts and the barrelup pieces. unfortunately this has caused problems with them fitting together. We’re going to try sanding the roughness out a bit and see if we can make that work. If not then we’ll probably reprint on my P1S.

Same issue with the top rail on my A1, its the overhangs. Too steep for the cooling on A1. You can lower the layers to 0.12 or use the P1S

@TheMidnightSmith ugh. looks like it’s doing it again. the other two appear to be okay so far. I’ve skipped this one and will try again.

the trigger did Not hold the force… Printed the Arrow in PETG. optimized the trigger a Little bit. cut out a Little curb Like on the picture. Made new Bullets in one piece. now it Works Great… thank you you are Genius 👍👌

The ignitor is not designed to be stopped there. I think you should use an elastic string to give more flexibility to move ignitor backward more.(Edited)

Great print, now to look for a decent bow string

i've printed it at 68% scale, but its very tight to get hands in trigger. 68% is the biggest i can make it due to the bow section being so large. if you would like me to upload the profile, i can. just be warned that its small. everything has printed perfectly on my A1 mini.(Edited)

sure, please share your contribution and let's have fun! And for the tightness, did you use a elastic string?

Would you happen to have a US link for the string? I want to make sure I get the right one.
